The N539DS is a dedicated, high-performance wireless transceiver module engineered for the 169 MHz frequency band. It combines the proven Texas Instruments CC1311R3 wireless microcontroller with an external high-power PA and LNA, delivering an exceptional +37 dBm (5W) output power and -112 dBm sensitivity. This makes it the ideal solution for applications requiring ultra-long-range, highly reliable communication in smart metering, building automation, and industrial IoT networks. Its fully integrated, SMD-compatible design allows for rapid deployment without deep RF expertise.
Optimized for 169MHz Band: Specifically designed for reliable performance in the 169 MHz SRD/ISM band, popular in Europe for utility and alarm applications.
High Power & Industry-Leading Sensitivity: +37 dBm transmit power and -112 dBm receive sensitivity (@ 50 kbps) maximize link budget and range.
Exceptional Range: Designed for up to 10 km line-of-sight communication, enabling wide-area network coverage.
Integrated PA & LNA with Smart Control: Includes dedicated control pins (TXEN, RXEN, LNAEN) for optimal front-end management and power efficiency.
Robust & Stable: Features a high-precision TCXO for ±1 kHz frequency stability across the full industrial temperature range (-30°C to +70°C).
Easy to Integrate: Simple SPI/UART control interface, all components on a single 36x24x3 mm PCB, ready for SMT production.

The N539DS is the perfect fit for long-range, low-data-rate networks, especially where the 169MHz band is mandated or preferred for its propagation characteristics:
Smart Metering & AMR: Automatic Meter Reading for electricity, water, and gas.
Wireless Alarm & Security Systems: Reliable, long-distance intrusion and fire alarms.
Home & Building Automation: Control and monitoring across large facilities or homes.
Industrial Monitoring & Control (IIoT): Sensor data backhaul from remote equipment.
Agricultural & Environmental Sensor Networks: Wide-area soil, weather, and asset monitoring.
| Model | Output Power | Target Frequency Band |
|---|---|---|
| N539DS-CC1311R3-169M | +37 dBm | 160 – 175 MHz |
Dual Power Supplies Are Essential: The module requires TWO separate voltage regulators: a high-current 5V/≥2A supply for VCCPA and a clean 3.3V supply for VCC. Do not connect them together.
Antenna is Critical: Use only a high-efficiency antenna tuned for 169MHz. A poor antenna will drastically reduce range. Ensure proper 50-ohm matching.
Thermal Management: At +37 dBm, the PA will generate significant heat. Provide adequate PCB copper area for heat sinking and ensure ventilation in the enclosure.
Follow Control Logic: Incorrect sequencing of the TXEN/RXEN/LNAEN pins can reduce performance or damage the front-end. Refer to the control table above.
